Email Marketing
Email marketing includes electronic brochures, DIY email blasts (which I don't do), and sophisticated auto-responder systems that automatically send out follow up emails after someone has opted in for some offer. Auto responder emails must never contain a sales pitch. That's spam. Proper use means it is used to help people with valuable professional advice and tips, which of course lead to sales all on their own.
Electronic Brochures
I also do elegant electronic brochures that can be sent out as part of a tasteful email marketing campaign. Here are a couple of examples I did for a Security company that does training, consulting and investigations.
I actually handled the branding for the entire company — their logo, etc. I selected a typewriter font which is consistent with police work (the owner is a retired police compander with 26 years on the force). The Blind Justice is a statue he keeps on his desk. I shot it at a low angle and converted it to B&W line art.
To prop the these ebrochures, I used a manila folder complete with coffee stains and paper clips to give it that police file flavor.
My attitude is that I consider it my job to make whatever I do entertaining in addition to pertinent and relevant. Advertising that fails to make a relevant point is just very poor work. Unfortunately, there is a lot of bad advertising out there from a lot of companies who should know and can even afford better, like insurance companies. I get sick of looking at stinking bad advertising on TV. Could I do better? 100% absolutely yes.
